Representatives from 60 member economies of the Asia Pacific Business Advisory Council gathered in Jakarta, Indonesia, for the 2008 council conference (ABAC 2008), which concluded on January 23.

The three-day meeting discussed the development and integration of monetary systems, and cooperation with other regions to develop monetary systems, trade and investment facilities.

The participants in the conference also studied investment and trade designs, as well as determine priorities in energy security, and cooperation in information technology.
The outcome of the meeting would be refered to the APEC meeting in Peru in November this year.

ABAC is a private sector body of the Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation forum that offers recommendations to APEC member economies’ leaders in an annual dialogue and advises APEC officials on business sector priorities and concerns through an annual report containing recommendations to improve the business and investment environment in the APEC region.
