Addressing the opening ceremony, Pham Quang Hung, Director of the International Cooperation Department of the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism, informed the participants about Vietnam’s preparation for the fourth APEC Tourism Ministerial Meeting (TMM) and topics to be discussed at the meeting.

During the two-day meeting, participants will review progress in implementing the goals of the APEC Tourism Charter such as removing obstacles to tourism business and investment, increasing mobility of visitors and demand for tourism products and services, managing tourism outcomes and impacts in a sustainable manner, and increasing the understanding of tourism as a socio-economic development sector.

They will also discuss preparations for the TMM and proposals for new tourism projects to be approved at the meeting and seek ways to promote tourism cooperation between APEC member economies in the future.
