The first Vietnamese language training course was held at High School 282 in the centre of Moscow on October 11.

The training course drew a large number of young Vietnamese living in the Russian capital.

At the opening ceremony, participants laid a wreath at the late President Ho Chi Minh’s statue in the school’s traditional room under the name of “Vietnam corner”, which was inaugurated on April 30, 2008 to mark South Vietnam’s Liberation Day anniversary.

Previously, many Vietnamese language training courses have been held for the Vietnamese community in Russia. However, this well-organised training course is the first of its kind receiving strong support from a number of public schools in Russia.

The course aims to help Vietnamese nationals in Russia study their mother tongue and help their Russian friends gain a better understanding of the Vietnamese language and culture.
