Vietnamese Tet program opens at Hanoi museum

VOV.VN - A program entitled "Vietnamese Tet" has opened at the Museum of Hanoi to celebrate the success of the 12th National Party Congress and welcome the forthcoming traditional Lunar New Year 2016. 

Nguyen Tien Da, Director of the Museum of Hanoi, says the "Vietnamese Tet" program, which is held for the first time, aims to bring the public and visitors an insight into Vietnamese culture and tradition during the Lunar New Year.

“The program running through February 3 will feature an architectural replica of a Mong Phu village in the Red River Delta. We aim to showcases Vietnam’s traditions during the Lunar New Year. Painter Minh Duc, who is the author of several history films, will join us in arranging and decorating a space of Vietnamese Tet," he said.

Visitors to the museum are also introduced to the ways to prepare a traditional feast for Tet, arrange ancestors’ altars,and wrap square sticky rice cakes.
