Senior leaders receive association delegation in Kansai

(VOV) - On October 21, President Truong Tan Sang received a delegation from the Kansai region’s Japan-Vietnam Friendship Association led by its president Teichi Nishimura.
Japan is one of Vietnam’s leading investors and that Kansai has the highest number of Japanese investors in Vietnam, Sang told Japanese guests and thanked the Association for helping Vietnamese students, contributing to friendship and cooperation between the two countries.
Teichi Nishimura in turn pledged to contribute to cooperation between Kansai and Vietnamese localities.
Other delegation members praised Vietnam’s investment environment, saying they would continue to call for increased investment and the expansion of business operations in Vietnam.
They said they will also accelerate the trading of Vietnamese mangoes and Japanese apples while paving the way for persimmons, a Kansai specialty, to enter Vietnam and Vietnamese mangosteens and star apples to make inroads into their country’s market.
Meeting with Deputy Prime Minister cum Foreign Minister Pham Binh Minh the same day, Teiichi Nishimura pledged his utmost efforts to promote relations with Vietnam across various fields, especially economics, culture, and people-to-people exchange.
Nishimura said he hopes the Vietnamese Government will continue to offer the best possible conditions for Kansai entrepreneurs to run investment and expand business in the country.
Deputy PM Minh congratulated the association on its 20th founding anniversary and greatly valued its role and endeavour in promoting people-to-people exchange, economic and cultural cooperation between Vietnam and Kansai.
The Deputy PM asked the association to call on businesses in Kansai cities and prefectures to intensify investment in Vietnam, particularly in the fields of their strengths such as high technology and support industry.
