Vietnam, Japan rejoice over extensive strategic partnership

VOV.VN - Deputy Foreign Minister Le Hoai Trung for and Toshiko Abe, member of the Japan House of Representatives and Vice Minister for Foreign Affairs have showed their delight at the sound development of the Vietnam-Japan extensive strategic partnership over the past time, especially in 2018 when both nations celebrated 45 years of diplomatic ties.

At a reception in Hanoi on January 17 for the Japanese guest who has been in Vietnam to attend the sixth Japan-Vietnam Festival, Trung applauded the efficiency of the foreign direct investment (FDI) and official development assistance (ODA) capital from Japan in Vietnam’s socio-economic development.
He suggested Japan go ahead with cooperation and provide more ODA capital for Vietnam as well as facilitating the granting of entry visas for Vietnamese tourists.

The two diplomats consented to increase cooperation between the two foreign ministries to enhance mutual understanding and political trust between their leaders and people as well as stepping up in a wide range of fields in a deeper and more effective way.

Toshiko Abe assured her nation’s desire to beef up practical and effective cooperation with Vietnam and appreciated the Southeast Asian country’s active participation in ASEAN and Mekong-Japan cooperation mechanisms.

She said she hopes Vietnam will continue enhancing its role as the coordinator of the ASEAN-Japan relations for 2018-2021.
