Dang Thi Ngoc Thinh elected new Vice State President

Head of the Vote Counting Board Huynh Van Ti said on the same day that lawmakers voted to approve the nomination list and conducted secret ballots on the positions of Vice State President, Chief Justice of the Supreme People's Court and the Prosecutor General of the Supreme People's Procuracy.

The new Vice State President position was assigned to Dang Thi Ngoc Thinh to replace Mrs Nguyen Thi Doan.

Ms Thinh was born in 1959 in central Quang Nam province. She was a full member of the Party Central Committee in its 11th and 12 tenures and a NA deputy in its 11th and 13th tenures.

Thinh has assumed different positions: Permanent Vice Chair of the Vietnam’s Women Union, Deputy Secretary and then Secretary of the Vinh Long provincial Party Committee, and recently, Deputy Head of the Party Central Committee’s Office.

Mr Nguyen Hoa Binh, member of the Party Central Committee in its 12th tenure, and NA deputy in its 13th tenure, held the post of the Chief Justice of the Supreme People's Court to replace Truong Hoa Binh with 472 votes (95.55%).

Nguyen Hoa Binh was born in 1958 in Quang Ngai and has held positions, such as Deputy Director General of the Police General Department, Vice Secretary and then Secretary of Quang Ngai provincial Party Committee and the Prosecutor General of the Supreme People's Procuracy.

Mr Le Minh Tri, Deputy Head of the Party Central Internal Affairs Committee was elected the Prosecutor General of the Supreme People’s Procuracy to replace Nguyen Hoa Binh. 

Le Minh Tri was born in 1960 in Ho Chi Minh City and has assumed positions like Vice Chairman of HCM City People’s Committee, and deputy chief of the Central Internal Affairs Commission.

The Chief Justice of the Supreme People's Court Nguyen Hoa Binh was sworn into office after being elected by the NA.
