Addressing the ceremony, Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Sinh Hung called on businesses and entrepreneurs to join hands to become the vanguard of international economic integration, helping to elevate Vietnam’s image in the world arena.
He praised the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union, the Vietnam Youth Association, the Vietnam Entrepreneurs Association and relevant agencies for having organised the prestigious awards for the past six consecutive years. He expressed his hope that more successful businesses and entrepreneurs will receive this honour in the coming years.
For the first time, organisers had selected the top 10, 100 and 200 brands for awards. This year, the top 10 brands went to the Vietnam National Oil and Gas Group (PetroVietnam), Vietnam Rubber Group, the Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (Agribank), the Joint Stock Corporation for Financing and Promoting Technology (FPT), Saigon Gold, Silver and Gemstone Company (SJC), Hanoi General Import-Export Joint Stock Company (GELEXIMCO), Truong Hai Automobile Group, Dong Tam Tile Joint Stock Corporation, Thai Nguyen Iron&Steel Company (TISCO) and Viet Tien Garment Company.
Last year, the winning businesses earned a total revenue of US$24 billion, contributed US$1.5 billion to the State budget and employed 390,000 workers.
