Northern Jaguar is one of the largest vessels operated by The Alliance on the Trans-Pacific route and will regularly call at HICT. This regular stop off will provide a direct service from northern Vietnam to the West coast of the United States and Canada.
The service will help to reduce the shipping time from Haiphong to the West of the American continent to 17 days. This is as opposed to the previous route which took 25 days as it had to call at various other overseas transshipment hubs.

Since its inception in 2018, the port has had a major impact on the logistics landscape of northern Vietnam. The introduction of the port as significantly reduced logistics costs, improved the competitiveness of the logistics of national businesses, and has served to promote investment attraction, especially through foreign direct investment.
In May, HICT will continue to welcome other direct services from both the West and East coasts of the US, as well as further afield such as India, the Mediterranean, and the EU.
Such wide-ranging links will put the international transshipment hub on the map of transshipment hubs in the region and throughout the world.
