Vietnam Airlines is the first and sole carrier to operate a direct air connection between Vietnam and France over the past 15 years from 2003 to 2018. It has played a crucial role in developing the strategy for domestic aviation as a way of tightening diplomatic ties between the two countries.
Vietnam Airlines general director Duong Tri Thanh says the direct air route has helped to shorten travel time to 12 hours geographically and serves as an important bridge in terms of economics, politics, and culture.
