Around 130 marksmen from many strong teams, including the Military, Quang Ninh, the Ministry of Public Security, Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City, take part in the competition.

They compete in 16 events following Olympic rules, in which each marksman is allowed to participate in one event - either pistol, rifle or trap shooting.

Last year, the Military team led the medal table with 11 gold, nine silver and four bronze medals, followed by Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City, in 2^nd and 3^rd place respectively.
