Attending the National Party Congress is not only the great honour of delegates that also makes them feel duty-bound after that. During interviews granted to VOVNews prior to the congress, all the delegates realise their responsibilities, and have different expectations of this important event.

K’ Van Gon, Party Secretary of Dong Tien commune, Ham Thuan Bac district, Binh Thuan province

It is my honour to attend the congress this time. I hope that resolutions and policies to be adopted at the congress will help boost socio-economic development in far-flung areas and former revolutionary bases through investment projects. In addition, rural people will get easier access to loans and credits to develop husbandry and plantation and make use of the existing land funds.
Currently, Dong Tien commune lacks land for production, while locals’ scientific and technological levels remain low, affecting local socio-economic development.

As a young Party member and cadre, I try my best to translate resolutions of the provincial and district Party committees into life, and encourage local people to engage in local development programmes and promote democratic practices.

Nguyen Van Thanh, director of the Vinh Long provincial Department of Agriculture and Rural Development.

This is the second time I have attended the National Party Congress. All Party members and people from all walks of life in Vinh Long are very interested in the event, particularly in the contribution of opinions to the draft political report to be presented at the congress. They all look forward to breakthroughs to be created at the congress to narrow the development gap between regions.

I hope that through the congress, the Party will draw up guidelines and policies to fully tap the potential of all regions, particularly the Mekong River Delta, including Vinh Long province, and help local people develop and process farm products. Every year, these products greatly contribute to national food output, to ensure national food security and exports, which make up more than 55 percent of the total. More than 80 percent of the farmers in the Mekong River Delta, who live on agricultural production, look forward to drastic changes to keep up with urban development levels.

To do this, I think the Party should encourage further involvement in developing the transport, irrigation and education systems in rural areas.

I totally believe that the congress will live up to expectations of rural farmers, for rural agriculture serves as a firm foundation to ensure stable and sustainable development of the country.

Nguyen Thanh Binh, Deputy Secretary of the Ha Tinh provincial Party Committee

Thorough preparations for the 10th National Party Congress show democratic atmosphere is prevailing among all Party members and people, and therefore helping consolidate people’s trust in the Party.

Ha Tinh people hope that resolutions to be adopted at the 10th National Party Congress will be fully brought to life in localities, particularly among Party members. It is essential to build and develop a firm Party organisation and a strong political system at the grassroots level to implement the resolutions successfully.

Ha Tinh now has more than 8,000 Party members. The Party’s role in local Party cells has been enhanced gradually. Especially, through the recent Party Congresses at the grassroots level, people’s trust in the Party has been clearly demonstrated. To create people’s strong belief in the Party, the Party should pay special attention to boosting sustainable development in communities to ensure political stability and successful implementation of resolutions adopted at these congresses.

By contributing opinions to Party documents, many people want the Party to identify objectives for socio-economic development, particularly for Party building work and personnel management. We must train a contingent of competent cadres to gain people’s trust in order to boost economic development in the coming period.

Many Party members are concerned about whether they are allowed to run private economic activities. Accordingly, Party members need to clarify their responsibilities in the new situation. In its recent congress, the Ha Tinh provincial Party Committee mapped out its economic development plan, with a focus on the industrial and small handicraft sectors. We will mention this issue at the 10th National Party Congress.
