HCMC hosts Open International Athletics Tournament

The hosts led the medal tally, winning 8 gold, 6 silver and 3 bronze medals, as well as breaking 2 national records.

The new records were set by Nguyen Thanh Ngung in the men’s 10,000m walking and Nguyen Thi Thanh Phuc in the women’s 5,000m walking.

Indonesia placed second with 7 golds, 4 silvers and 4 bronzes, while third position went to the Republic of Korea with 3 golds, 2 silvers and 2 bronzes.
