The Lao NA leader made this statement while receiving a delegation from Vietnam’s Binh Thuan province, headed by Secretary of the provincial Party Committee Huynh Van Ty, in Vientiane on November 21.
Chairman Thongsing Thammavong expressed his belief that lessons learned from the experiences and operations of NA deputies and provincial People’s Councils in Vietnam are of great significance to Laos, particularly the Lao NA’s imminent session.
He vowed to continue working to develop the Laos-Vietnam special friendship and comprehensive cooperation and expressed his wish that Binh Thuan’s businesses would seek investment opportunities in Laos in the near future.
Earlier that day, the Binh Thuan delegation met with a delegation from the Lao NA Office, headed by the office’s Chairman Thongtern Sayasen.
During the visit, the Binh Thuan delegation also had a working session with the Lao NA’s relevant agencies and discussed the operation of the NA deputies at provincial level, as well as the role played by provincial People’s Councils.
They visited memorial sites for the late President Suphanouvong in Vientiane and in his homeland of Luang Prabang. They also called at the Kaysone Phomvihane Museum and several important cultural and historical sites of interest around Vientiane and Luang Prabang.
