Christmas was celebrated joyfully across the nation and the Communist Party concluded its fourth conference. The week also saw fires related to motor vehicles as well as some incidents of boats sinking.

Thousands of Vietnamese people poured  into the streets on the night of December 24 to celebrate Christmas Eve along with Catholics and Protestants.

The fourth conference of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) Central Committee concludes in Hanoi on December 31, finalizing its entire agenda after six days of intensive work.
