Australia, Vietnam bolster co-operation in personnel training and policy research
VOV.VN - Nguyen Xuan Thang, president of the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics (HCMA), hailed contributions made by out-going Australian Ambassador to Vietnam Andrew Goledzinowski to advancing the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership between the two sides while receiving the diplomat on December 12 in Hanoi.

During the reception, Thang, who is also chairman of the Central Theory Council, underscored the importance of upgrading diplomatic ties to that of a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, stressing that it is necessary to competently perform key directions to deepen co-operation between the two countries in a more effective and substantive manner.
Thang hailed Goledzinowski's contributions to developing the Vietnam-Australia Centre, which serves as a dynamic training, research, and knowledge exchange centre between the two countries.
He affirmed that the hub serves as a symbol of mutual trust between the two nation as it helps to reinforce the bilateral relationship, especially in areas related to human rights work, thus supporting Vietnam in finalising a project to integrate human rights education into the national education system.
This collaboration has contributed to helping Vietnam build a leadership team with strong capabilities, public management skills, and evidence- and practical experience-based policy-making expertise, all of which are essential for the country's development and international integration, he said.
He expressed hope that Goledzinowsk, in any position, will continue to support and promote the Vietnam-Australia Comprehensive Strategic Partnership in general, as well as co-operation between Australian partners and the HCMA in particular.
Goledzinowski said during his tenure in Vietnam, he came to understand the importance of balance and harmony, emphasising that both sides are on the threshold of a new era of innovation and creativity, with this new era of Vietnam gradually unfolding at a decisive moment.
Australia aspires to further promote bilateral ties in institutions, infrastructure, human resources, and human rights, he said, showing his confidence that the country will successfully achieve its goal of becoming a developed nation when it celebrates its 100th founding anniversary in 2045.
