Australian Ambassador honoured with Friendship Order
VOV.VN - Vietnamese Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Nguyen Quoc Dung presented a Friendship Order of the Vietnamese State to outgoing Australian Ambassador to Vietnam Craig Chittick at a ceremony in Hanoi on June 26.
In his address, Dung hailed the Australian diplomat’s positive and remarkable contributions to developing the Vietnam-Australia relationship in a practical and effective manner, especially the establishment of the bilateral strategic partnership in March 2018.
He also acknowledged the Australian ambassador’s efforts to hold many high-level visits and meetings between the two countries, as well as bilateral cooperation mechanisms at both central and grassroots levels.
Craig Chittick has helped augment cooperation in a wide range of fields, especially national defence and security, trade, development cooperation, education-training and people-to-people exchange, as well as collaboration between the foreign ministries, Dung added.
For his part, the ambassador pledged his greater efforts in any position to make greater contributions to fostering the Australia-Vietnam strategic partnership in the time ahead.
