The Chairman of the Hanoi Municipal People’s Committee, Nguyen The Thao, has paid a working visit to Kracow city in the Polish province of Malopolska - the final leg of his trip to France and Poland.

The mayor of Kracow, Prof. J. Majchrowski, gave Mr Thao a warm reception on June 26, during which Mr Thao hoped that with a wealth of experience, Kracow would assist Hanoi in the fields of education, urban management, environment protection, urban traffic regulation and staff training for the preservation of architectural and historic buildings.

The mayor said Kracow is considered a city of universities because it has only 750,000 inhabitants but up to 200,000 university students. He affirmed that his city is willing to assist Hanoi in education and training, especially in the preservation and restoration of buildings. He suggested Hanoi set up a list of priorities and promised Kracow will dispatch its experts to help the Vietnamese capital city.

On the same day, the chief of Malopolska province, J. Miller, met with Chairman Thao and expressed the province’s willingness to provide assistance to Hanoi in the fields of its strengths.

Mr Thao welcomed the goodwill from the leaders of Kracow city and Molopolska province and invited them to attend the grand ceremony to celebrate the 1000th anniversary of Hanoi city next year.
