The OCA President briefed Mr Hung on the result of his working session with the Vietnam Olympic Committee and said that the Kuwaiti government wants to promote cooperation with Vietnam not only in politics but also in other areas such as economics, social affairs and sports.

For his part, Mr Hung thanked Kuwait for providing its support to Vietnam in recent times and expressed his belief that bilateral relations between Vietnam and Kuwait will continue to grow stronger in future.

He said that as Asia is developing dynamically, regional economies should unite to promote their combined role in the world, including in the arena of sports.

Vietnam will do its utmost to contribute to the advancement of sports in Asia, said Mr Hung.

The Deputy PM confirmed that Vietnam attaches great importance to developing cooperative ties with countries in the Middle East, including Kuwait. Recent reciprocal visits by their government leaders and senior officials have helped open up new prospects for cooperation between Vietnam and other Mid-east countries.
