The Vietnam National Assembly is willing to share experience and boost cooperation with its Lao counterpart, said NA Chairman Nguyen Phu Trong.

While receiving the Director of the Lao National Assembly Office, Thongteun Sayasen, in Hanoi on April 13, Mr Trong appreciated the result of the working visit to Vietnam by the Lao delegation, saying it helped increase the efficiency of cooperation between the two countries’ legislative bodies.

He proposed that the Vietnamese and Lao NA Offices conduct more exchanges and develop more cooperation programmes to improve their ties.

Director Thongteun Sayasen said he wants to learn from his Vietnamese counterpart’s experience in building a law-governed state, including the organisation of local people’s councils.

Earlier, the Lao official held talks with Director of the Vietnam NA Office Tran Dinh Dan. They discussed measures to boost exchanges and cooperation between the offices.
