New Transport Minister, Government Inspectorate General named

The National Assembly ratified the appointment of Nguyen Van The to the post of Minister of Transport and Le Minh Khai to the post of Government Inspectorate General at its fourth session on October 26.

Up to 93.98 percent or 461 NA deputies said yes to the appointment of Nguyen Van The, while 94.5 percent or 464 legislators backed the appointment of Le Minh Khai.

With almost all “yes” votes, the legislature approved a Resolution ratifying the Prime Minister’s proposal on the appointments.

Congratulating the two new Government members, NA Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan expressed her hope that they will strive to fulfil their assigned tasks in their new positions.

A day earlier, the legislature relieved Truong Quang Nghia of the post of Transport Minister and Phan Van Sau of the post of Government Inspector General, also using secret ballot, in moves to reshuffle Government personnel.

Nghia is now Secretary of the Da Nang municipal Party Committee, while Sau performs The’s former role as Secretary of the Soc Trang provincial Party Committee.

On the afternoon of October 26, lawmakers discussed in group a bill on amendments and supplements to the Law on Overseas Representative Missions of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam.
