During a meeting with the Secretary of the Municipal Party Committee, Le Thanh Hai, Mr Lee shared Singapore’s experience in minimising the negative effects of the global economic crisis, focusing on human resource development.
Singapore has adopted practical support policies to encourage its people to return to school and take part in training courses to improve their skills, said Mr Lee.
He said that Vietnam is in a better position than Singapore to curb the downturn and that the country should pay attention to re-training its human resources. He suggested that Vietnam send gifted students and experienced young teachers abroad for higher education, who will then return and hand down their knowledge to juniors to improve the education level.
For his part, Mr Hai recalled valuable experiences he had drawn from Singaporean cabinet members, which he said are of great significance for Vietnam, especially in building public confidence in the Government’s solutions and its governance capacity amidst market fluctuations.
He said that HCM City is effectively implementing agreements on bilateral cooperation between Vietnam and Singapore. He briefed his guest on Vietnam’s solutions to stimulate investment and ensure social welfare.
The Singaporean mentor is scheduled to visit the Vietnam-Singapore Industrial Park in Binh Duong province and meet with provincial leaders before flying to Hanoi for talks with Vietnamese government leaders.Bình luận của bạn đang được xem xét
