The event, co-organised by the Vietnam Basketball Federation and the Khanh Hoa provincial Department for Culture, Sports and Tourism, aims to create an opportunity for junior basketball players to improve their skills and gain valuable experience.
The 10-day competition includes a total of 57 matches in three rounds played by four groups: Group A - China, India, Malaysia and Taiwan (China); Group B - the Republic of Korea (RoK), Uzbekistan, Iraq and Lebanon; Group C - Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Iran and Japan; and Group D - the Philippines, Indonesia and Vietnam.
Vietnam lost their opening match against Indonesia 75-61 on October 18 and the host team will face the Philippines on October 20.
The top two winners of the tournament will represent Asia at the World U17 Basketball Tournament in Lithuania next year.
