"Arkhan Phraratchathan" has been renovated from a 50-year-old building used as the catering department of the Queen Savang Vadhana Memorial Hospital.
When the Princess Maha Chakri visited the hospital two years ago, she found the building was crowded, hot and stuffy, making it difficult for the staff to fulfil their task of preparing food and drink in a professional capacity.
The Princess then donated personal funds for the renovation, which was assisted by the National Food Institute of the Ministry of Industry in terms of the architectural design and the laying-down of work system within the building.
The building is now in the capacity of providing catering services in accordance with the GMP in Mass Catering in Hospital standard. It prepares up to 1,600 meals to patients and hospital staff daily.
