Misfortunate fishermen in Phu Yen receive support

Eleven fishermen from the central coastal province of Phu Yen, whose ships were damaged while they were fishing in the waters of Hoang Sa (Paracel) and Truong Sa (Spratly) archipelagos, have received nearly VND100 million (US$4,400) in aid.

The money was handed over on June 23 by the Golden Heart Fund and the “Fishing nets of love” programme.
Nguyen Thi Thu Van, Chairwoman of the Phu Yen provincial Trade Union, said that the support is aimed at helping misfortunate fishermen overcome difficulties and stabilise their lives as well as continue fishing at sea.

In the coming time, the Golden Heart Fund and the “Fishing nets of love” programme will continue to support and accompany fishermen who conduct offshore fishing voyages.
