OVs in Netherlands, Mexico welcome Lunar New Year
VOV.VN - The Vietnamese embassy in the Netherlands has held a get-together with around 600 overseas Vietnamese people and students and international friends to welcome the traditional Lunar New Year (Tet) which falls on February 8.
Ambassador to the Netherlands Nguyen Van Doan briefed the participants on Vietnam’s socio-economic achievements and cooperative results between the two countries in recent years.
He spoke highly of OVs contributions to the socio-development of the Netherlands and Vietnam and friendship and cooperative ties between the two countries.

Ambassador to Mexico Le Linh Lan emphasized the significance of Tet to Vietnamese people, particularly when this new year is coincided with the 12th National Party Congress - an important socio-political event.
Lan reviewed Vietnam’s great achievements in the regional and international integration process, especially in negotiating and signing of important free trade agreements (FTAs). GDP hit a record high of 6.7% over the last five years, despite global economic difficulties, he stated.
