Popular tourist destinations crowded out on national holidays
VOV.VN - Tens of thousands of visitors flocked to the country’s popular tourist attractions over the national holidays for Reunification Day (April 30) and May Day (May 1).

From the early morning, many delegations from different provinces and cities nationwide visited the relic site and offered incense to commemorate the father of the nation. The visitors were deeply affected by discovering the simple things that had a close attachment to President Ho Chi Minh’s childhood with their own eyes.
Nguyen Bao Tuan, director of the relic site, said the number of visitors increased sharply on April 29, with around 600 delegations comprising tens of thousands of people. Relevant agencies in coordination with local authorities had prepared plans to ensure safety for visitors.

From the morning of April 28, a growing number of people have flocked to relic sites such as A1 Hill, the Dien Bien Phu Victory Monument, the Victory Museum, the De Castries bunker, and the headquarters of the Vietnam People’s Army in Dien Bien Phu City. Other relic sites further from the centre of the city have also drawn large crowds of visitors. Many hotels and hostels in the city were already fully booked from April 27.

Huynh Cong Tri, director of the Management Board of Ly Son port, said that by 4.30pm on April 28, 29 vessels had carried more than 3,600 visitors to Ly Son Island.

Ly Son district authorities sent staff to tourist attractions and historical relic sites to guide visitors and heighten supervision to prevent any touts from raising service prices or cheating visitors.
