Remains of martyrs repatriated from Cambodia

(VOV) - The Mekong Delta province of Dong Thap held a memorial and burial service on July 31 for the remains of 39 Vietnamese volunteer soldiers and experts who died in Cambodia during the past war.

In the 2012-2013 dry season, K91 group under Dong Thap provincial Military Command, sought and collected the remains of martyrs in Prey Veng and Pursat provinces in Cambodia, two of which were identified.

Since 2001, the group has collected the remains of 1,164 martyrs, 73 of whom were identified.

Deputy chairwoman of the provincial People’s Committee, Tran Thi Thai affirmed that the State and people always remember the martyrs’ great contribution and sacrifice, which has helped bring Vietnam-Cambodia relations closer.
