Nearly 330 young delegates aboard Fuji Maru will arrive at Saigon port in Ho Chi Minh City on December 4 as part of the 2011 Ship for Southeast Asian Youth Programme (SSEAYP).
During their 4-day stay they will meet with city leaders and participate in some cultural exchange programmes with young Vietnamese people.
They will also go on homestays and visit some tourist attractions there.
SSEAYP is one of the cooperation programmes between the Japanese Government and other ASEAN Governments to foster friendship among young people from these countries.
Since Vietnam first joined the programme in 1995, it has welcomed 11 SSEAYP Ships.
Departing from Yokohama, Japan, on November 2, the ship will bring delegates to the Philippines, Brunei, Indonesia, Malaysia and Vietnam before returning to Japan on December 15.
