Vietnam-RoK Friendship Week helps tighten bilateral ties
VOV.VN - The Vietnam-Republic of Korea (RoK) Friendship Week was launched in Ho Chi Minh City on October 1 to mark the RoK’s National Foundation Day and 25 years of the Vietnam-RoK diplomatic ties (1992-2017).
In his remarks, President of the municipal Vietnam-RoK Friendship Association Vu Van Hoa highlighted the progress in Vietnam- RoK ties over the past 25 years, as evidenced by the establishment of the strategic partnership and their partnership in trade, investment, culture and education.
Hoa thanked the RoK Consulate General, the RoK Businesspeople Association and the RoK community in the City for their positive contributions to the bilateral friendship, and hoped that more people-to-people interactions will be organized to deepen mutual understanding and enhance solidarity.
Consul General Park Noh Wan, for his part suggested holding more exchange activities like the Vietnam-RoK Friendship Week to create a closer linkage between entrepreneurs and people from the two countries.
A host of cultural programmes, artistic performances and cuisine display, were held by the Ho Chi Minh City Union of Friendship Organizations, the RoK Consulate General in the City, and the municipal Youth Cultural House during the event.
On the occasion, the RoK Businesspeople Association in the City presented 46 scholarships to university students with outstanding academic records and 20 bicycles to disadvantaged pupils.
