Woman dies as tornado sinks two tour boats in Quang Binh
VOV.VN - A tornado swept through Phong Nha Ke Bang National Park area in the central province of Quang Binh at 2.30pm on May 18, causing two tour boats to sink which lead to the death of a female tourist from Hanoi.

Two tour boats carrying 26 tourists on a visit to caves in Phong Nha Ke Bang were caught by a tornado when returning to the mainland. A rescue team safely brought victims to land but Nguyen Thi Mao, 57, from Hanoi, died after being transferred to the shore.
Local authorities have provided timely support to the tourists and have compensated the dead woman’s family with VND5 million, covering all the expenses of bringing the victim’s body to her hometown for burial.
Tran Quang Vu, Chairman of Bo Trach district People’s Committee said all visitors were wearing life-jackets to avoid such serious consequences. At present, Phong Nha Ke Bang National Park will be responsible for covering all costs of bringing the victim’s body to Hanoi.
