Vietnam to host major football champs in Southeast Asia

Vietnam will host the Southeast Asian U19 football champs and the Southeast Asian beach soccer championship in 2016, according to the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF).

The Southeast Asia Football Federation (AFF) has approved the organisation plans for the tournaments.

Accordingly, the AFF U19 football champs is scheduled to take place in mid-September, which is said to be a chance of practice for regional squads which have earned tickets to the final rounds of the Asian Football Confederation (AFC)’s U19 tournament in Bahrain from October 11-31.

The hosting of the AFF Beach Soccer Championship 2016 will assist with Vietnam’s preparation for the 5th Asian Sports Festival.

It will be hosted by the central city of Danang from September 24 to October 5 with 14 competitions and 165 sets of medals.
