The tournament has drawn the participation of 24 teams from universities and colleges across the country. The teams are divided into 4 groups each for men and women, which will play each other in rounds. The top two teams in each group will enter the quarter-finals.
There will be total prize money of VND200 million with the champions winning VND30 million. Second and third winners will receive VND20 million and VND10 million, respectively.
Toyota Motor Vietnam Co. Ltd. will also support both the men’s and women’s champions with an additional VND50 million each, and the runners up with an extra VND30 million.
The tournament, which was first held in 2010, is organised by Toyota Motor Vietnam Co. Ltd. in co-ordination with the Vietnam Ministry of Education and Training, the Vietnam National University and the Professional Sports Association. It will last until October 8.
