The Vietnamese team has bagged 3 gold, 4 silver and 1 bronze medals at the 6th World Taekwondo Poomsae Championships, ranking second only to the Republic of Korea.
Russia, Iran and Taiwan (China) are placed third.
On the final day of July 31, Vietnam competed in three events. In the single women’s event the age group of 31-40, Nguyen Thi Huyen Dieu gained a bronze medal. In the team men’s event for those under 36 years old, trio Nguyen Dinh Toan, Le Trung Anh and Le Anh MInh won championship title.
Another gold medal was grabbed by two athletes Thu Ngan and Tuyet Van in the team women’s event for under 36 category.
The 6th World Taekwondo Poomsae Championships taking place in Russia from July 22-31 attracted 700 athletes from 70 countries and territories around the world. Vietnam competed in 9 events for three age groups.
