Japan has successfully defended their champion title after defeating Vietnam 6-0 in the final of the Asian Women’s U19 Football Championships.

Japanese footballers scored the ball into Vietnam’s net six times. The opening goal was headed in the 36th minute by striker Kyokawa, who later made another goal in the 43rd minute.

The remaining four scores of Japan were contributed by Yokoyama and Saito at the 47th, 54th, 84th and 88th minute in the second half.

Suffering such a heavy defeat, Vietnam’s women U19 football team was placed at the bottom of the list in the final round.

In the line-up behind Japan were the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK), China, the Republic of Korea (RoK) and Australia.

As a result, Japan, the DPRK and China will represent Asia to compete in the final round of the World Women’s U20 Football Championships in 2012.
