The event will take place in the Bitexco Financial Tower, where competitors will conquer the 1,002 steps of the building to finish at the observation deck on the 49th floor.

It is the first event of its kind to be held in Vietnam and is designed as a preparatory competition for the 2011 Vertical World Circuit, where top runners participating in the competition will gain crucial points for the championship title.

Last year, Moon won the prestigious Empire State Building Run-Up and was crowned the 2010 Vertical World Circuit Champion.

“I'm looking forward to racing in Vietnam for the first time," Moon said.

"I’ve been training hard and I am now feeling fully fit. If I win in Vietnam, it will certainly bring me back up the rankings of the world championship title,” she added.
