Myanmar parliament's first session ends

Speaker of the House U Win Myint told the press said during the session, the House passed six important proposals and several bills. 

Among the approved bills is the one on revoking the law to safeguard the country against the dangers of those planning subversive acts, which was enacted by the previous military government over four decades ago to allow declaration of state of emergency for any territory in the country and restriction of any citizen's fundamental rights.

The bill on the fourth amendment to the election laws of the federal, regional and state parliaments was also adopted this time.

There are four remaining bills to be discussed, including those on withdrawing the emergency acts, amending the anti-corruption law, crude oil and oil products, and amending the election law for leading bodies of self-administered regions or zones. 

According to Speaker U Win Myint, after the first session, the Lower House will adjourn for about one and a half months before convening its second session. 

The first meeting session of the Lower House started on February 1.
